2K Games has secured a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the development team at their internal studio, which is currently working on the upcoming third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.
The new appointee steps into the role of studio head at the development studio following the departure of former leader Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' lackluster initial reveal last autumn.
On Wednesday, 2K president a key figure updated employees about this decision through an official communication, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had indicated the necessity for a clearer direction.
Ismailer noted that the developers is now refining Project Ethos with a renewed approach, aiming to satisfy player expectations.
The news follows a comparable step taken by 2K Games in August, when they recruited an industry veteran from the Diablo team to work on the BioShock development group.
Here is the complete text from the president's communication:
Hello Everyone—
I know you all just finished your town hall - I hope you’re as enthusiastic as I am with the recent updates. Previously I sent you all a message, I mentioned the following: “I am confident in this team. You all are some of the most motivated and innovative developers we have had the opportunity to work with - and we’re eager for that relationship to endure.”
Given your hard work and versatility, particularly over the last year, you repeatedly show that.
The player input from last autumn’s the game demo was revealing. It affirmed the potential of a action-packed game but told us we still had work to do. It revealed the necessity for a sharper brand.
The progress is encouraging to see how far you’ve progressed. You embraced the criticism to heart and revamped the title with a renewed direction - one that’s ready to deliver on its potential to our players.
The belief in this project strengthens every day. To boost the remarkable development you’ve made, It is a pleasure to introduce Ben Brinkman as the latest Lead of the team. After some time of talks, he comes aboard us on Monday, October 20.
His guidance and background in the competitive gaming field is considerable, having spent the past decade and a half producing and overseeing some of the most recognizable franchises in gaming, for example the acclaimed shooter, and more recently, Apex Legends.
I invite you all in greeting Ben soon. We are all eager to continue seeing the progress of the game in the weeks to come.
David

He previously was employed at major gaming companies in diverse development positions on the iconic franchise series, and, earlier in his career, had periods at other industry leaders.
The upcoming game was unveiled in last year together with a community playtest. Then, the developers portrayed the game as a "free-to-play, 3rd-person action-packed experience and an innovative step forward on the category."
"Create your ideal gameplay session—or face defeat—in this engaging over-the-shoulder adventure! Build your hero in real-time to fit your unique tactics," the official summary reads. "Challenge the rivals with unique powers, stakes, and challenges that shift every session. Will you withdraw carefully with your collected items? Alternatively aim high, put it on the line, and pray your squad can achieve the highest spot? The decision is in your hands."
The game does not have an confirmed launch window or platforms, but fans can expect more updates as production progresses.
